CAPERCAILLIE
It is real privilege to bring a band of Capercaillie's standing to Innerleithen. They have been credited with being the major force in bringing Celtic music to the world stage, and their unique fusion of Gaelic culture and contemporary sound has always stretched boundaries in their quest to keep the music evolving.

There have been many milestones for a band who have sold over a million albums world wide. These include three silver and one gold album in the UK, the first Gaelic Top 40 single, writing the music for, and appearing in the Hollywood movie "Rob Roy", and performing in over thirty countries.

Truly a Scottish "Supergroup" Capercaillie have become the face of Scottish music for a worldwide audience - Footstompin.com.

They've been at the forefront of the roots renaissance in their native Scotland for the best part of the last three decades - BBC Review

LAU
2009 LIVE ACT OF THE YEAR at the Scots Trad Music Awards and winners a remarkable 3 years running (2008-10) of BEST GROUP at the Radio 2 Folk Awards, LAU are a formidable trio of three of the finest & most innovative exponents of modern traditional music in Britain today. Their now infamous live shows are a must-see experience with an energy and musicianship which is spellbinding.

Highly regarded musicians in their own right, the combined talents of Kris Drever, Martin Green and Aidan O'Rourke make for a fantastic and all-conquering trio. A Lau live performance will be an explosion of both traditional and self-penned songs which highlight their unique take on folk music.

THE UNTHANKS
The Northumbrian Unthank sisters last graced Innerleithen’s stage in 2007 and we’re delighted to welcome them back. Now in a formidable 10 piece line up, they’ve gone from strength to strength, winning the Radio 2 Horizon Award in 2009 and attracting fantastic reviews.

Discreetly provocative arrangements draw on elements of blues, jazz, music hall, burlesque cabaret, classical and leftfield contemporary music, making their take on folk music peerless, fearless and wholeheartedly brave.

Not many bands can count amongst their fans, Radiohead, Portishead, Robert Wyatt, Ben Folds, Elvis Costello, Damon Albarn, Ewan McGregor and Nick Hornby, but The Unthanks occupy a unique place in music.

Once in a blue moon, every now and again, you hear music that is so complete, so wonderful, unique and yet familiar that it stops you in your tracks. They have that blue moon magic about them, and they have it in spades. - BBC review.

Listen to The Unthanks at myspace and watch them live on the BBC's Jools Holland Show (including some of their trademark step dancing) at youtube.

THE BEVVY SISTERS
The Bevvy Sisters unite the richly seasoned voices of Heather Macleod, Kaela Rowan and Lindsey Black, in a headily harmonised cocktail of jazz, Americana, folk and newly-written material. Sometimes sighted fronting Edinburgh's semi-mythical LoveBoat Big Band, they're generally accompanied by David Donnelly (guitar, mandolin), and James Mackintosh (percussion). Their recently released album 'The St James Sessions', which received a rare 4* review in Scotland on Sunday, was actually recorded in Innerleithen.

...started off at excellent, progressed swiftly to stunning, and fetched up as positively spectacular. - Scotsman review of 2010 Celtic Connections gig.

LORI WATSON AND RULE OF THREE
It's a great pleasure to welcome Lori back to Innerleithen for she has done so much to fly the flag for Borders traditional music. A finalist in the BBC Scotland Young Trad Musician of the Year competition 2002 and 2003, Lori has performed extensively throughout Britain and Europe. Currently writing a PhD at the RSAMD, Lori's recordings are regularly broadcast on radio, television and the internet throughout Europe and in the USA.

Vivacious, cleanly articulated fiddling... Silvery, beautifully poised vocals and a wealth of inventive accompanying colours and rhythms. - Scotsman

CRAIG JEFFREY
This extremely talented young man has achieved an amazing amount in a short time and has done much to help others along the way.

In a short career, he's won a prestigious Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections, shared a bill with Paulo Nutini, KT Tunstall and Sandi Thom and has even had his music played on Emmerdale and Coronation Street!

I'm wary of charity records but was blown away by Craig Jeffrey from Galashiels...He's from the Paolo Nutini school of singing ...with looks to match! - Elaine C Smith, Sunday Mail

Listen to Craig at his website.

MICK WEST & FRANK McLAUGHLIN
Mick West is regarded as one of Scotland's finest interpreters of traditional song, and could not have a better accompanist than Frank McLaughlin.

This masterful album of traditional songs was created over hundreds of years, by many thousands of individuals, and their spirit remains palpable in West's deeply moving and authentically Scots voice. - Norman Chalmers 5* review in the Scotsman of recent released CD 'Sark O Snaw'. Reviews don't come any better.

Listen to Mick at myspace and Frank at myspace and watch Mick's band at the BBC website.

LORCÁN MAC MATHÚNA
Yet another absolute treat for Innerleithen festival goers this year - we are very privileged to welcome Lorcán, a mesmerising Sean Nós singer from Dublin. He's appeared twice at Celtic Connections, but otherwise this is a rare trip to Scotland for him. Not to be missed.

This is one of the most beautiful albums I have ever heard - Alex Gallacher (folkradio.uk), on the album Rógaire Dubh

Listen to and watch Lorcán at myspace.

JANET WEATHERSTON

Dalkeith based Janet, has long been a great favourite at Scottish festivals and is guaranteed to entertain with her lively style. Also a noted spoons player, though we're not sure if they'll be coming to Innerleithen.....

FISHER LASSIES

The Fisher Lassies are a very talented group of local singers without whom the Traditional Singers concert would not be complete.
