Festival Background
The seed for the Innerleithen Music Festival was sown when Both Sides of the Tweed came to the town in 2001 and 2002. The town's own festival grew from that and has been nurtured by luminaries of the music scene such as Dougie MacLean, Ally Bain & Phil Cunningham, Karen Matheson, Kris Drever, Tannahill Weavers, Martin Carthy, Martin Simpson, The Battlefield Band, Old Blind Dogs, Karine Polwart, Eliza Carthy, Incredible String Band, Jez Lowe and Andy M Stewart in past years.
